Are eye photos cliche?

I love eyes, in fact I have two of my own. I don't necessarily see random strangers eyes of interest. In your two examples the first is poorly cropped, cutting off part of the subject. The second is an interesting eye...now what? Would I buy it, frame it and put it on my wall? Nope.
