Iron deficiency related tinnitus?
Hi. I've been taking iron supplements (ferrous sulphate, 200mg, x3 daily) for six weeks now, and it hasn't yet fixed the tinnitus that started with my iron deficiency (my blood tests showed only slightly reduced levels). Reading around various sources, it seems that the length of time it takes for the iron to kick in can vary a lot from person to person. It probably took years to gradually get to this depleted iron state, so I guess we shouldn't expect results too quickly. Anxiety also increases tinnitus, although not being concerned about it is easier said than done. To help with your iron absorption, if you didn't know already, it's worth Googling the types of food and drink which inhibit uptake (such as tea, coffee and milk).
