Will it be impossible for me to join the British Police Force in this time?

I am hoping to becoming a Police Officer in United Kingdom, I've bin clean for 15 year's and hoping to still be clean when I'm 18 i had this idea i really wanted to join the force. I am wondering because of the stupid things that are happening, Is there ANYWAY i can become a Police Officer when I'm older? Or is all hope lost and just stick with a cleaning job?
