What is your real opinion of the United States?

Hello! I've been answering questions for the last hour (for the first time) and just realized (not sure if this is a UK/Ireland thing, but we spell it with a Z, spell check is telling me I'm wrong, lol) I've been doing it under Yahoo! UK and Ireland. When I discovered my error, I was curious to post what you think of the US. I see so many things reported in the news and feel that so many other countries must think we are so immoral and ignorant in some of our ways. I'm certainly proud to be from the US, but feel that we can change many things to make it better. What has been your experience or interpretation of the US via media, trips, etc.
