Im trying to get married in The United States.... I have my work permit thats but Im back in The Bahamas?

Ok! I want to get married to my boyfriend that lives in the United States. I went to school in The U.S and I hold my Work Permit. But I returned back to the Bahamas after not having much luck wit finding a Job. How do I go about getting married and becoming a resident if I now live in The Bahamas??? Do i have to return back to The Bahamas after the wedding seeing That I have a job over there or what? What are the steps involved.
