Road Trip Cool Stop Suggestions?

Thinking of taking a road trip along the west coast of the United States from the bottom of California up to Vancouver Island. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternative stops? I'm open to ridiculous, fun suggestions like extraterrestrial museums to the big ball of yarn. If you have good suggestions for even stuff like strawberry festivals, I want to hear it. Thanks for your help!
