Best Shampoo/Conditioner to use for coarse, thick hair?

I have tried almost every product to make my hair manageable. It mostly comes out stringy and coarse and makes my hair dull. I've used All Soft by Redkin, I've used Pantein Pro-V, Salon brands, regular Suave etc. I was wondering if anyone had tried Wen or Ovation? Does it work? My hair isn't dyed nor do I have split ends. I just look like a poodle if I don't straighten it and look like I have copper wire for hair if I do. Anything worked so far for any of the ladies with the same hair type?
